The HOA of East Lake Woodlands, a gated community in part of Oldsmar, contacted us with an issue they needed help with.
The neighborhood sign at Woodlands Estates happens to be where kids wait to be picked up by the school bus. For fun, the children were knocking over the existing landscape floor lights that illuminated the sign marker. Eager to help the frustrated HOA come up with a solution, our lighting designers and installers put their heads together.
Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Clearwater & Tampa Bay proposed a clever idea to use LED well lighting. BUT, we also added a concrete ring to surround each fixture for extra stability. Two BB03 well-light fixtures uplight the sign from below, and the concrete makes sure they stay in perfectly in place. Kids may be kids, but as professional lighting designers and installers, we wanted to make sure it worked. Since the metal fixtures sit just above the surface, they are hidden and there is nothing to knock over. Concrete adds an extra measure of stability. Voila!
Of course, the HOA at Woodlands Estates loved the idea and it was approved. The inventive concept ended the mischief and vandalism, and it was an inexpensive fix. The neighborhood was no longer faced with the headache of off-kilter fixtures affecting the beauty of their signage.
